Agave pygmaea 'Dragon Toes' GENTRY 1982
Pygmaea is currently no longer a recognized species.
Already in the initial description, Gentry expresses the suspicion that it may only be a small, location-dependent form of A. seemanniana.
In 1992, Ullrich classified it as a subspecies of Agave seemanniana. Later, it was considered a synonym of seemanniana.
It is only found in the border region of Mexico (Chiapas) and Guatemala.
